The difference between
a dream and a goal : THE DATE!

What is coaching ?

Coaching is an approach based on precise objectives and solutions. Being considered as an accelerator of change, its foundation is based on simple principles:

  • the art of the questioning
  • active listening and  reformulation
  • positive feedback
  • awareness
  • positive and unconditional consideration

The French federation of coaching finds that "coaching rests on an alliance designed to accompany a person or a group towards its best level of success and self-fulfillment". The objectives can be professionals or personals. Asana coaching helps its clientele to overcome obstacles and develop resources in various fields such as  relationships,  family conflicts, self-confidence, performance anxiety, career changes, treatment of phobias and allergies, psycho-somatic complications and many more areas.

Where does coaching come from?
At first, coaching targeted professional athletes, bringing them to go beyond their limits; surpass themselves. Then, coaching was reserved for the elite; politicians, businessmen and stars.  When we more recently spoke about life coaching, coaching became more democratic, affordable and accessible, and is aimed at anyone willing to improve certain aspects of their life.

What is a coach?
A coach is a guide and a catalyst of change in order to acquire the know-how and to work with human or organizational emergent strengths to get a new energy, a sense of direction, draw visions and new plans and generate the wished results. It is a person who is trained and devoted to guide others towards more skills, commitment and a confidence in themselves.

What are the differences between a coach and a psychologist?
A coach intervenes in the here and now with a projection of objectives/solutions in the future. He does not focus on the past of a client, or very little, as a psychologist would do, in the search for "deep" causes for an action or a behavior..

How long does a coaching session last?

Coaching is considered a brief therapy. The duration of a session of personal coaching at Asana is of 50 minutes and usually takes place over a period of 3 sessions to 20 sessions according to the periodicity of the sessions (weekly, semimonthly or monthly).

Does a coach use ‘original’ tools?
No, the coach does not wish to make his customers  "guinea pigs". On the contrary, he wants to show them respect them by adhering to the ethical criteria fixed by Asana and the federation of coaching. Here are some important points to know about the coaches of Asana:

  • The coaches received a specific training in coaching and are recognized by the profession
  • They possess  other complementary certification (neuro-linguistic programming PNL, family coaching, business coaching, humanist and Erickson hypnosis and ,family constellation)
  • They are members of a professional federation and adhere to an ethical code
  • They went through a therapeutic journey  themselves
  • They continue to get new training and stay in touch with the field in order to give very high quality service

What can a coach improve in a company?
A coach can allow a company to:

  • Guide those who want to be very successful through emergent scenarios
  • To defend and to develop the corporate culture
  • To encourage and to support
  • To facilitate the professional development and the organizational development
  • To transfer the control of knowledge of a professional domain towards others
  • To guide employees through career changes  because each has to expect, in the future, to occupy six to eight different positions in his/her professional life
  • Supporting a company in the definition of its mission, vision and values
  • To improve the team spirit
  • To determine the objectives of performance and different business strategies

What is NLP ?
NLP stands for Neuro-Linguistic Programming, a name that encompasses the three most influential components involved in producing human experience: neurology, language and programming. The neurological system regulates how our bodies function, language determines how we interface and communicate with other people and our programming determines the kinds of models of the world we create. Neuro-Linguistic Programming describes the fundamental dynamics between mind (neuro) and language (linguistic) and how their interplay affects our body and behavior (programming).

NLP is a pragmatic school of thought - an 'epistemology' - that addresses the many levels involved in being human. NLP is a multi-dimensional process that involves the development of behavioral competence and flexibility, but also involves strategic thinking and an understanding of the mental and cognitive processes behind behavior. NLP provides tools and skills for the development of states of individual excellence, but it also establishes a system of empowering beliefs and presuppositions about what human beings are, what communication is and what the process of change is all about. At another level, NLP is about self-discovery, exploring identity and mission. It also provides a framework for understanding and relating to the 'spiritual' part of human experience that reaches beyond us as individuals to our family, community and global systems. NLP is not only about competence and excellence, it is about wisdom and vision.
